EDUCATION IN PAKISTAN

INTRODUCTION OF EDUCATION:

Nelson Mandela says that “EDUCATION IS THE MOST POWERFUL WEAPON WHICH YOU CAN USE TO CHANGE THE WORLD’’.
Education is necessary for success of any nation and is known as the necessity of life.
It enhances the intellectual skills and knowledge among the person and brings positive change in the personality of the human’s life.

EDUCATION SYSTEM OF PAKISTAN:

According to the article 25A of the constitution it is the obligation of state to provide free and compulsory education to all children between the ages of 5-16 years. However, in Pakistan, the education system is not as much stable and strong as compared to the other developed countries but still government taking many steps to promote education in country.

In Pakistan the system of education is overlooked by the government on both levels federal as well as provincial. The federal ministry deals in areas of financing as well as the development of the curriculum whereas provincial ministry overseen all the matters of education in the provincial level.

Educational departments are working on district level of every province, they monitor and maintain the standards of education in district level, formulate the curriculum as well as developmental schemes. These departments assess and addressed all the problems of teaching and non teaching staff.

Quality of education is assessed by the assessment system of education through examination. Examination commission is that department which is responsible for taking exams and granting scholarships. Quality of education is also improved by the development of staff by arranging pre and in service trainings.

LEVELS OF EDUCATION:

In Pakistan education is divided into five levels such as primary, middle, high, intermediate and university level.
Primary level of education is actually inspired from the British schooling system which is specially designed for children of 3-5 year age. The basic aim of the primary education is to develop character as well as confidence in the children. Every level of education has its own importance but primary level is the first step to learn many things. It is considered as root of education.

After passing primary level the students are promoted to the middle level. It starts from class 6th to 8th. High education starts from the class 9th to 10th. In high sections students have to pass examinations held by the regional boards from which they are awarded by the SSC certification called by matriculation.

When the school is completed student may consider joining college or may be professional institution for higher studies.

POSITIVE OUTCOMES:

Following acre the positive outcomes of education in which government may be interested to invest.
• The first potential outcome of education is productivity; education makes a person more productive in the terms of higher the living standards.
• It may make the citizen more civilized as well as more informed and active voters, which will have positive benefit for whole nation through improving quality of democratic process.
• It may reduce the crime in society as well; especially juvenile crime is increasing fastly in the society only education can reduce it.
• It may increase the literacy rate as well as decrease the poverty from the society.
• It may close the gender gap and helps to broad up the mentality.
• It may help to increase the economic growth of country, as the earning of a person will increase it means GDP is also increasing.

Conclusion:

Education is one of the important factors which enhances the human status and make them civilized. It is the only way which can turn population into productivity. All over the globe developed countries comes with the effective education system.
There is a need of reforms in education system and it can only be done by the mutual participation of education department as well as society, government cannot do it alone.
